What is infusible ink? What is it for?

¿Qué es el infusible ink? ¿Para qué sirve?

What is infusible ink? What is it for? This is a product of the Cricut brand, which emerged as a complement for cutting plotters, but we are going to explain better what it consists of.

Infusible Ink, this is a cricut ink system, which allows us to stamp a wide variety of items permanently. In other words, it is a system of markers and designs made from sublimation ink, which we can apply to a support (mugs, t-shirts, bags, etc.), using our easy press or mug press.

How does it work? Do I need any special materials?

We can work these sheets of infusible ink and markers, using our Cricut cutting plotter. How does it work?
In the case of transfer sheets:

  • Create the design in mirror mode, in your Design Space software.
  • Proceed to make the cut using your Cricut plotter.
  • Wipe off excess material.
  • Print onto a t-shirt or mug using your cricut equipment or traditional sublimation plates.

The infusibles thought :

  • Create the design in mirror mode, in your Design Space software.
  • Proceed to trace using your Cricut plotter. Or you can trace the outline with our plotter and fill it in manually.
  • Print onto a t-shirt or mug using your cricut equipment or traditional sublimation plates.

Which is better? Is it different from sublimation?

Among these processes there is no best technique, but they are complementary, and you can apply both in the same design. The advantage is that the transfer sheets have pre-made designs, which can save us a lot of time doing it manually with infusible pens.

Actually, it is a process similar to sublimation , since it is applied to surfaces that have a polymer coating.
